In my vegetable area, I have this one.
My Vegetables
Very impressive, Kaleem. But, what is it? A cucumber? :-)
Looks like a gourd
Yes these are Gourds.
Shows you how much I know!
I was debating over gourd or eggplant, but saw the vines and decided on gourd. What uses does this gourd have? Tell us what you will do with it.
Thank you for posting. It's interesting to see what people grow around the world.
We cook it with meat and with puls, we can make very tasty dishes with Gourds.
gumlla - very impressive. looks alot like an italian squash i grow once in awhile. they can really take over a garden.
New to me, but very pretty.
RE: " We cook it with meat and with puls, we can make very tasty dishes with Gourds. "
Gumlla, please tell us what types of 'meat' you would use? ... and perhaps shed a little more
info as to how some of your recipes .. that would include this doozy of a gourd .. be prepared?
Also ... It would be nice to 'see' what the inside/meat of this gourd looks like.
It would be most interesting to 'view' the texture ...
As you can most easily tell .. I'm (holding my hand high) am totally unfamilar with your cultures' cuisine ...
Perhaps, this (DG), may would be a most wonderful medium to aid us in becoming somewhat familiar as
to how your veggies are incorporated into your familys meals ...
That is, if you'd not mind? - mags

You are also with us. Enjoy the dish and loose your weight.
Gumlla, just discovered your thread. Your gourd looks like the spittin' image of our gourd which was sold to us by Pinetree Seeds as "Cucuzzi caravazi'.
May I ask you what the largest size is that you have harvested your gourds to eat? Did you ever wait 'till they were 5'? Do you know of any special uses besides eating them?.
Do yours bloom at night with white flowers?
Thank you for those recipes - this is going to be interesting.
