Just discovered these beauties, and realize how tiny these seeds are...looking for any tips on successful collection? Any tips would be so appreciated!
Painted Tongue Seed Collecting ? HELP!
Have you ever collected seed from petunia? Very similar. The seed pod forms where the base of the flower was. The size varies, I think depending on how well pollinated the flower was, and some can be tiny with only a couple of seeds. It starts out green and gradually dries to brown and then the top will crack open. The whole thing is kind of sticky (again, think petunia) but the seeds can start to escape so keep an eye on it when it turns brown. Then, just crack it the rest of the way open, and empty seeds into something. I roll it between my fingers a bit to release them all. Hope this helps!

I never have worked with petunias before or anything this tiny for that fact. Thanks for the tip!
You're welcome!
