Hi,
This is the first year that i've planted acorn squash & have lots of them but am wondering when I should harvest them. When they turn dark green or wait until the vines die this fall?
TIA, Jan
Acorn Squash harvest time?
Assuming that you wish to use them for baking squash. You can begin harvest when the rind becomes too hard to scratch with a fingernail and the stem becomes dry and woody. The vines should began to die as soon as the majority of the squash ripen. For best storage this would be the time to pick.
