White lilac growing in cement wall

This lilac is growing out of what use to be an outdoor grill turned flower bed. I absolutely love white lilacs. And, I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to save this wonderful shrub. DH wants to turn the flower bed back into a grill.
