I was at Walmart today and spotted some Golden Harvest canning jars that were a buck (or more) cheaper than the Ball and Kerr ones. 12 regular quart Mason jars were priced at $5.94, while 12 regular pint Mason jars were priced at $4.94.
I'm unfamiliar with this brand, and wonder if it will hold up as well as the other two that I've heard of. Oh yes, I'm rather new to canning (only done it twice before, small batches with new Ball jars), so I am also curious about using ones that we often see in garage/estate sales. And what are the pros/cons of using wide mouthed jars v.s. regular ones?
Help! :)
