Dull little unknown

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

The photo doesn't really catch the glow of this bright orange. Unfortunately I have no name.

Thanks for the possibles. A little more searching on my part I found a "registry" http://www.prideon.com/registry/o/o.html with over 60 listings with orange as the 1st word, plus even more with orange elsewhere. I think I will just be happy with orange lily.

I use that registry ALOT but I sure wish he had pics! That's why our PDB lilium work will be so important!!

I tried to get my Orange lily id'd earlier - looks a lot like yours. I too couldn't get the outrageous orange to show up in the pics I took.

Blooms, yours is a little different (no spots), but I am sure it is hard not to miss it out in the garden. I guess we both need to keep those little bulbils and encourage more of these. They sure are keepers.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

I had a pretty orange one this year. But it was just a wal-mart no name one. It sure did glow.

An Über Gardener shopping at Walmart? Tsk, Tsk, Tsk!

:-}

Find 'em where you can. One of my greatest "finds" was at the fancy French Store Target'

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Lol Potemup we don't have that fancy French store to close but I have been known to hit it a time or two. lol

Port Edwards, WI(Zone 4a)

I found some of my outrageous orange lilies has some minor spotting near the throat...not as much as the original post, but still one of those I couldn't surely identify.

This is funny, we've got two threads going about Big Orange Lily (s) and basically we seem to conclude that's a working designation. AND they're not dull in any setting. I think mine came out of a bin at a local overpriced nursery. no matter it was supposed to be PURPLE when I bought it. LOL Blooms

Here's my bargain Wal-Mart orange lily. This was one of the first asiatics I ever bought. This picture was taken just after I planted it. I think the container said Pixie Lily, but I'm so new to lilies I'm not sure what that means! lol

Sort of like Rudolph's shiny nose, you might even say it glows!
Yellow and Orange are the standout colors in my garden. Thanks for sharing your finds.
