i received 3 of these bulbs from wayside garden in june of
2003, for 70% off of there original price!!!!! which ended up being $3-5 for me. this year they are selling for $12.95 a piece. ouch, but much more the normal price i've seen out there. there were problems with the bulbs, but they gladly replaced them. 2 i planted in the sun garden and they grew but very small. ok i planted them late. this year those bulbs only got 2 inches tall???????????????? the 3rd bulb planted in a different location, part full sun and part filtered shade during the day. this is now about 3 ft tall this year and got 2 small but pretty blossoms. i'm curious to see what happens with them.
these flowers look 'antique' to me. very victorian.
