I'm rather new to fruit and vegetable gardening, but I did get a nice flush of peaches earlier this year and, yesterday, I spotted a Sugar Baby watermelon growing on the vine I had planted!
I know this is no big deal to people who grow crops on a regular basis, but this 'city girl' was thrilled at the wonder of growing something edible (hopefully).
And yes -- those are my grubby fingerprints all over the melon. LOL.

I actually managed to grow something!
Congratulations! I am a newbie gardener as well. I know the thrill of knowing I didn't kill anything, let alone actually able to harvest. Good job, Jean.
My strawberries are turning red. I am very hopeful.
Drop, that is so funny.... and the way I feel as well.... "the thrill of knowing I didn't kill anything." LOL. Hope you get a nice crop of juicy strawberries!
