Oh, There is another "gotta have" That is GORGEOUS Andrea!!!

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

Actually, as I was trying to put it in the database, I realized that it is probably 'Roses in Snow' (Hansen) -- 'Key to My Heart' http://plantsdatabase.com/showpicture/42197/ has a much wider edge of pink. I guess I will have to contact the auction seller who mailed me the wrong one. :{

John Peat is incredible! Is this what they call a "pie crust" edge? I just love the colors on this one.

Hoping it is Roses in Snow! :-) That is one pretty Daylily!!

Julie, yes, that is a "piecrust"edge. Subsequent blooms this summer should be larger and the edge a bit wider... but for it's first bloom, I was impressed!

Melissa // Dablaw // anyone else who is an experienced grower -- enlighten me -- I am new to daylilies. The seller of the 'Key to My Heart' (Carr 99) says what I have is the real thing. Do you think that subsequent blooms will have a wider pink edge as you see on the plant database link I posted? Maybe the pink edge was more narrow because these were the first blooms (this one came from a warmer zone and blooming earlier here than it probably will next year)?

Southwestern, OH(Zone 6b)

Maybe David will know, but I don't think that the edge would get THAT much wider!!

Here is a pic of Roses in Snow... I tend to think you were right with your first guess Andrea. The photos in the PDB don't look anything like this yours...

this one does...

Alyssum, in my experience the first blooms often are not as good as the later ones. Edges not as wide, etc. Also, when nightime temperatures are cool, edges are not as wide. Hope this helps and your daylily improves.

We will have to see . . . I actually have Roses and Snow too -it is planted right next to it, so I will get to compare the two. R & S is supposed to have a white edge . . . I am going to wait this one out and see what happens. This one does have the same petal style as I was expecting with Key to my Heart.

Meant to say to lilystorm that TWILIGHT TARANTULA is just amazing! What a fabulous color!
