This is my task for the Spring. It's 36 ft x 3-1/2 ft and runs the length of the east side of my house. It gets about 3-4 hrs of sun per day and then in deep shade. In late Spring (May) it will be VERY windy through here.
I have a Viburnum (snowball bush) in a 5-gal pot to plant at the corner near the downspout (northeast).
The neighbors to the right in the pic have a sprinkler system that runs a little long and creates great moisture for this area!!
Will these plants work here?
Bleeding heart
Cala lilies
Astilbe
Japanese Painted Fern (Athyrium)
Fuchsia (will have to dig and overwinter them or cover them)
I'm thinking of adding a brick or stone path along this bed towards the backyard maybe this summer or fall.
What else would go good in this spot? Any vines that don't need a lot of sunshine? What about flowering plants for summer/fall? Help!!
What should I put in here....?
