Vine suggestions for shading windows in summer

Asturias, Spain

Hi! We're getting an exciting new house with a garden in northern Spain, so a climate similar to southern England. The house has lots of large windows on the south-facing wall, which must be great with winter sun, not so great if there's a heat wave in the summer. I was thinking of planting a large deciduous vine to shade the wall a bit, maybe a wisteria. But the house is quite high so I worry about pruning from the windows or if the wisteria may take over the house. Here it is not uncommon from brambles to cover houses completely, or almost so!

Any ideas?
