Have 2 green mountain boxwoods. They're the only ones that made it through the winter with no die back.
What's the best way to propagate these? Obviously, it's cuttings, but how do you get them going and any special tips?
Thanks :)
Boxwood cuttings
Dea, I am interested in doing the same thing. Through Google I found this site......
http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/envirohort/426-603/426-603.html
Scroll down until you come to "Propagation". There seems to be a wealth of information on Boxwoods on the net. Just now don't have time to explore them all....but just type "Boxwood Propagation" into a search engine, and am sure you will find what you are looking for.
Thanks !!
Dave and I did around 100 of these 2 years ago. We just took tip cutting when new growth came out. Kept outside in the shade until they rooted. If I remember, it took a couple of weeks, or more.
It was fun to do, but a warning, they grow soooooooooo ssssssssllllllllllooooooooowwwwwwww! 2 years later the only one we had left (between moving, giving away, and plain neglect) was finally big enough for a 4" pot!
