I have just sown a few seeds soaked in liquid kelp overnight, per the instructions on the kelp bottle. I'll keep some records and post pics as they start to emerge. The directions also call for watering with a kelp solution.
I ordered the powdered kelp from Garden's Alive, basically to water house plants and thwart damping-off disease on seedlings and cuttings. Soaking seeds first in it may be a plus.
I have followed with great interest the threads on starting seeds in rockwool, and even ordered some but it hasn't arrived yet... hence trying the kelp.
