We put a pool in last year and I am ready to start planting around it. I have a few ideas, but could definitely use some input on this and especially photos of your own pool area. I would like a palm tree, but which one? I am also concerned about root systems damaging the pool. I'd also like to keep a tropical theme. This is a southern exposure and one end of the pool receives shade from an oak tree in the late afternoon. Whatever is planted needs to remain fairly low so as not to obstruct the view into the rest of yard which is enclosed with a privacy fence. Some things I have considered are:
Palm tree
tropical hibiscus
shrub and mini roses
daylillies
mexican heather
puple fountain grass
Any suggestions and photos would be greatly appreciated.
