Tom Clothier's page was one of my first encounters on the internet and one I still use all the time. His germination info is priceless :) He has some other good articles on his page that are worth checking out

I wanted to thank Tom for upkeeping his database site, but there is no link to contact him. If anyone has his email addy please post it here.
OR if you're Tom and you're reading this..well....you pretty much saved my indoor garden from extinction so consider yourself thanked.

Loreleyes, I believe Tom has retired from cyber-gardening and left his Internet site in the care of someone else.

Poppysue: you told me how to pollinate my Christmas Cacti and I now have some big seed heads -- Thank you! Now, how can you tell when they're ripe? Do they turn brown and dry up? It doesn't seem like the kind of plant that will do that. Thanks for your advice :) Gretchen

Gretchen - It takes a long time for them to ripen. Last year I pollinated in the fall/winter and I didn't pick it until the following fall. The pod eventually gets squishy.

Thanks Poppysue! I had no idea, obviously... Have a nice evening! Gretchen
