Sago palms

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Can I grow sagos by cutting branches off from the mother plant?

This site http://www.junglemusic.net/cycadadvice/cycads-sago-palm.htm has a lot of description on growing Sago Palms and removing pups. I had found another site some time ago that gave very detailed instructions but when I did a Google search now I could not find it.

I have five pups in pots now and I am waiting for them to root.

might try laying seed on a damp substrate like planter mix.keep in "greenhouse" atmosphere. Has worked before, but takes some time.

Thank You George, this link was very helpful.

Should I soak or nick ? I think I will put them in Rockwool grow cubes, they provide such an excellent environment for sprouting seeds and also excel for difficult cuttings.
....Also should I use heat and/or lights?
