Does anyone know what type of hydrangea this is?

Definitely macropylla and possibly this cultivar....

Do you have alkaline soil in your neck of the woods? Alkaline/pink blooms. Acid/blue blooms. There are so many cultivars that look alike. "Pia" is another popular pink one.

That does look somewhat like 'Pink Forever'. The soil here is pretty much neutral. This is its first year so I don't know how large it will get.

The mopheads (macrophylla) grow quite quickly so yours should attain it's full growth potential in, say, two to three year's time. If you do a search here on DG for hydrangea you will find some really great sites that have been pulled up over time. These shrubs, along with roses are favourites of mine. :-) Forever Pink is purported to remain pink whatever the soil ph.
