Help With a Kumquat Tree

Zephyrhills, FL

Our Kumquat tree was doing great for months (bearing fruit and all), now its losing leaves like crazy, almost bare. We looked for signs of bugs and disease, but found none.

Any ideas for something subtle to look for?

We are just outside of Tampa, FL, so don't think cold is a factor yet.

Thanks

Any changes in watering? Did you fertilize? Did leaves turn brown?

Zephyrhills, FL

Leaves did not trun brown, just fell off. Just got a kumquat that ripened on the tree with virtually no leaves. The stalk and branches seen green enough, if that matters. Started spraying it with an organic bug and disease spray. Been doing that for about 3 weeks now. No change yet.

Wondering if these trees go dormant like the ones up north, even if we live in central Florida?

Noticed all of our plants get alot of spider webs. Hoping the spray will help that too.

Cut a branch tip off and slice it on a diagional is the center white looking or brownish? is it solid and full? do you see evidence of any thing bori?ng .

I don't know about these trees is it mother natures way to finish the ripening process?

Last of all have you tried looking up Kumquat culture? Ernie
