I had a few maroon sunflowers that bloomed within the last 6 weeks or so and now I need to know how to get seeds from them. I'm not seeing any seeds although they look like they might be dying a little now. Are the seeds going to look like the huge yellow sflower seeds? I don't see anything like that on the heads. Can I cut off the heads and bring in the house to dry?
I'm clueless once again.
Thanks
Maroon sunflower seeds
Mine were under the chaff on the round inside of the bloom. They were very small compared to regular sunflower seeds. I had to get them quickly becasue the goldfinches loved them and most of the heads were stripped of seeds by the time I got to them. Lou
Thank you so much for the info. I'm sorry I'm just now replying.
