Where do I look for the Nasturium seeds? I've never collected any of these seeds before. Thanks.
Nasturium seeds
They look like small hard garbanzo beans! Nasturtiums are weeds in my garden; they reseed almost as much as morning glory. If you had a lot of flowers you shouldn't have any problem finding them.
i found that although most flowers were polinated most did not have seeds on them, a lot never seemed to form seeds or they fell off when they were still green. i found most of my ripe seeds on the ground by the plant hiden in the grass.
We have to collect our nasturtium seeds green here, since they'll freeze out before they turn brown on the vine. I dry them out in the house, and it takes quite awhile.
Nasturtium form three little wrinkly round segments on a stem. Sometimes only two will form good seed. They are most easily seen by lifting the stems up. The seeds will dangle down underneath. Here's a picture of nasturtium seed.
