Rooting cuttings of Glory Flower, Princess Flower
Tibouchina urvilleana.
I have this plant here in my garden now, but I have read that it isn't hardy for me.
Does anyone know how to root the cuttings from it?? Also I wanted to take a few to the Ga Round Up next month and I need to know the info to let the traders know as well.
Thanks!
Need help with...
My propagation book says: greenwood cuttings in summer, hardwood cuttings in winter. Greenwood cuttings need 6-10 weeks and warm temps or bottom heat of 59-68F. Sideshoots of greenwood root well.
Thanks Darius.
I will pass on the info to the ones I am trading with. :)
Hmmm now I need to know if they are rooted in water or soil?
Does the book tell?
Use a soil-based rooting medium. I'd use what I use for most propagation, which is sterile potting soil mixed with sand.
Thanks for all the info. You have been such a big help :)
