Just got my first seed catalogue this morning.
Fortunately it's Thompson and Morgan, so I'll look but resist LOL
(Hope I can be strong...)
Which are your favourites?
Catalogue time again....
Chilterns by far
Yes, they have SO much - and no seductive piccies to fool you with
I've used them for years
Chilterns I leave for reading in the bath, highlighting all those ones I just have to have.I like the way they write their descriptions too, adds a bit of humour to it.
I love Plantworld down in Devon too,Secret seeds is another one.
That's the only redeeming thing about Autumn is the catalogues that plop through the door onto the mats.
editing to say that Secret Seeds has been bought over

LOL sue, the amount of highlighter we must all get through in catalogue season!! (Often do mine in the bath too ;)
Is that right Mark? I thought that the two were similar.I haven't bought from them yet, just perused the cataloge. I like plantworld 'cos they're friendly. and very helpful, know what they're talking about with queries.
My Thompsons came through too, (my post now arrives at lunch-time, not sure if it's ment to be first or second post? )have glanced at it, but it's waiting for my bath-time perusal this evening.
I have found Secret Seeds very helpful Sue and on the whole the seeds have germinated very successfully. |In the past I have been disappointed with many of Plantworlds seed being incorrectly named and in the case of hardy geraniums not coming true.
You should never believe rumours because you never get the other side of the story!
Interesting findings psilo. I haven't used either enough to know which I prefer
Enjoy your bath sue. We only have one delivery now too (apart from parcels) and the timing seems to rotate through the year to give everyone a chance of having the early post sometimes. At the moment mine's just changed from half past seven to half past nine, and I expect it'll go even later before it comes back to 7.30am again
My post's just gone back further. I left home at midday yesterday thinking there was none for me and got home to a pile on the mat (post that is - I don't have any pets apart from fish in their tank LOL)
our postie is a really lazy devil. he spends all his time in the shop gossiping and moaning. Often the post comes around 11am but I have known it be as late as 3pm!!

I'm still working on new additions, and if you know of any that you'd like to see added, please let me know. If some of these are among your favourites, I hope you'll take a moment to add a comment about them. (And if any are NOT your favourites, well...that would be helpful to other gardeners, too :)
The Southern Irish Terra Nova is winding down just now.
I got Thompsom & Morgan yesterday.. they carry some very interesting and cool looking plants.. wow. But the prices!
:}
Thanks for the long list Terry, that's very helpful :)
Definitely some there I don't know, so will look up their entries, and also some favourites
A lot of people (including me) seem to feel that their pictures are better than their products Evert
So choose from the photos and then buy (cheaper and better quality) elsewhere LOL
Ooops, hope they don't take me to court ;)
I'm entering them in there as fast as I can find them. Hopefully you'll soon be able to use the Advanced Search to narrow the country to UK and still get several results for each category.
I also added a category for Fuchsias since there are several specialists in your "neck of the woods" (not too many in the U.S.)
It certainly pays to shop around,I bought 5 seeds of Musella lasiocarpa from Secret seeds for £2.00. For the same seeds from T&M (and only 4 of them ) it was £4.99.
I'm sure that they would come up with a reason why theirs is much more expensive , but I'm not too sure what it'd be.
I notice too ,that in this yeras catalogue, they've got loads of offers, trying to encourage people to buy more,so I think that perhaps people are realising .
