Sweet Cherry Tree

Clayton, NY(Zone 4a)

Hi,

What is a good sweet cherry tree for zone 4?

Also - How big do they grow?

Thanks!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Nanking, both the White and Red are good. The White Nanking is sweeter than the Red tho. These are both bushes.

I'm not aware of many cherry TREES that are hardy in your zone...most are listed as handling zone 5 tho.

thanks - would really like to know about trees though..

Hmmm, kg...is there a very large temp difference in zone 4 and 5? Think a well-mulched tree (designated for zone 5) would make it thru a zone 4 winter?

I've purchased lots of fruit trees from this link. Check out the cherry page. Michael, the owner, is very knowledgeable also...maybe an email to him would gain you some info. http://eat-it.com/Plants/cherries.html

Sorry to not be of more help. A big WELCOME to DG by the way! :>)
