Tomatos and chickens

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Well, I was going to buy some more tomato plants for my fall garden, but guess what!! I noticed my compost pile with leaves and chicken poop had plants growing out of it. I wonder what could that be I thought it was too hot to grow anything out of. It is tomato plants growing. I did feed the chickens some old tomoatos and now I have nice new tomato plants growing for me!

What a nice surprise! I noticed a squash growing out of mine yesterday. Isn't this fun!!

Since these plants are in your compost pile they will do quite well even in the hottest of days because their roots are being kept at a constant temperature and are fed regularly with compost tea. Best wishs for an abundant harvest.

leaflady: do you think I should leave them there instead of moving to the garden area? There is a lot of shade here.
