I have alot of White Yarrow and I want to collect seeds for trades. Are the brown spent blooms the seeds?
Hoping so! I just cut off all the dead flowers and brought them in the house.
Collecting Yarrow seeds.
Molly,
When they are dry, just cut the heads with some stem, and place into a paper sack, flowerhead in first..In a few weeks, give it a good shake and most of the seeds will fall to the bottom of the sack..then just cut stems off.. I use the lunch size bags, and just roll them up for storage, writing the name on the sack..I do this for things that I save a lot of..Saves room too..Even when mostly full, they roll up nicely for storage.
Many Thanks Larkie! I'll do just that.
Oooh TY for this post! I was just about to ask!!!
I also have white yarrow with brown spent blooms on them.
So YEA!
