What is the best way to root a cutting from a butterfly bush. I have a huge purple one and I would like to root a piece of it. Thanks-----
Butterfly bush
Hi Dixie. I usually take 6-8 inch cuttings, strip off all the leaves but the top set or two and make sure the bottom of the cutting is right below a leaf node. Dip in rooting hormone if you have it, shake it off and keep in moist soil. This time of year I don't usually have to worry about humidity. Keep in out of direct sun but bright light is fine. It should root in just a couple of weeks.
