this is my potato vine, its variegated
But now it has a shoot growing that is all golden color,is this reverting to its origial color?(don't know what the originals look like)or is it a sport that I should try to root?
'
If so,how do I root iT?
potato vine
CC - I rooted a stem cutting of mine last fall. If I can root it .... ANYBODY can! I think I used a bit of the rooting powder and stuck it in soil mix. I kept it covered with a plastic dome at first. Not sure how your yellow stem will do. Try it!
Did you keep yours in a basket all summer? I stuck mine in the ground and it did lousy. I won't do that again.
mines been in a hanging basket the whole time, its even blooming.......
I'll snip some cuttings of the yellow leaved part and try to root it.That way I won't loose the whole golden section....
Do you still have your's Sue?
I have my cutting to plant. I didn't save the whole plant. I bought the regular green one this year too. I think that one will be more vigorous. I wasn't too impressed with the vareigated one but maybe it will do better in a pot.
