this is my artichoke bed. i am so glad they are looking so good. these are globe. i tried a different variety last yr and they died as soon as i planted them in the ground. with a 2 month drought and 90º+ i am very pleased.
artichokes
Farmgirl,
I only have one plant this year. It is a survivor from last year that I cut back. I have 3 chokes on it so far. Looks like you will be eating lots of chokes this year, good luck!
I grew some last year, then dug the plants and wintered them in the basement. They have new growth on them but it is too cold at night to put them out into the garden yet. The new growth needs light so I guess I will put them out in their pots under my big lilac for a few days. I will be so glad to get a greenhouse (probably by fall).
i love my gh the best thing i had dh do. you will love one i'm sure mary.
thanks jul, i can't wait for mine to start producing.
