Wildflowers April 6th

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Today while in the countryside I photographed some of the flowers. There were mixed patches of ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea) and Town Hall Clock or Moschatel (Adoxa moschatellina) - so called as it has flowers facing four ways. Nature got this colour scheme right :)

Here's the ground ivy. Unless you looked closely you could easily mistake these for violets as the colour is so similar, and the size of the flowers

.......and a closer view of the 'town hall clock' so it's possible to see the four faces more clearly

There were white violets too

great photos, aren't these little flowers fab, it's odd how you can see more detail in the photo,than just by looking at them enmasse.
I love the town clock ones, imagine those at say crown fritillairy size!
