I have Penstemon Procerus and Penstemon Palmeri seeds, How do I go about planting these?? Do they need anything special?
Thanks in advance ya'll.
Need help with a couple of different kinds of seeds
From Tom Clothier's site ...
P. palmeri , Peltanthera , ( 4-9 ), Sow fresh seed @ 70ºF (21ºC), sow stored seed under thin cover 8 wks @ 40ºF (4ºC) , ( 34x24 ), herbaceous , white, pink , dryland
P. procerus , Proceri , ( 2 ), Sow under thin cover 8 wks @ 40ºF (4ºC) , ( 6x12 ), mat , blue, varies , alpine
I think winter sowing penstemons works out best. It's probably too warm for you now so you may want to stratify them in the fridge.
Thanks Poppysue, Guess I will put them in the Fall sow box! I just hate having to wait until fall to plant seeds, that I want to see now! LOL But I've done it before so I'll do it again.
Thanks for the help
If it were me, I would try a few right now in the dridge, and save the rest till I see what they will do.
Hey that is a good idea Lavanda. Think I'll try that!
I can't do much, but I can always get my son to do it. He is so good at helping me like that.
Thanks for the advice!
