Blueprints for a greenhouse

Moore, OK(Zone 7a)

I'm going to build me a greenhouse! Would love to have some blueprints, plans, and some ideas about them. I think a 8x12 would be a good size to start out with. Is a pvc greenhouse sturdy? I live in Oklahoma but it will be sheltered so wind wouldn't be much of a problem. Anything would be grateful!
Thanks bunches, Tammy

Tammy - a web search should bring up lots of plans for you. Here's a start with google http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=greenhouse+plans&spell=1 Many of the members here have built there own and will be able to give you some tips & hints about it. Browsing back through this forum should be helpful too

I am working on this g/house now. I have all the materal just waiting for some sun. Check on hyperlink.http://www.i4at.org/surv/green.htm
Materials cost just over $100. plus the cover,I will use shade cloth this summer and cover it with plastic in the fall.

We built one like this 2 years ago to handle our overflow.
Ours was 20 ft wide. We had some terrible winds that spring.
It stood through it, even if it was scary to watch it blow back and forth. Pvc pipe has no strenght to keep it straight up & down. Try to put in an area that doesn't get wind. Keep plants away from walls as it will move. We had to pull benches back 2 ft from walls. (12 ft doesn't leave much room!)
Good Luck

I've got a friend who made one like that using rebar for the hoops. My dh says EMT conduit would be easier to bend into shape.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Good plans, but I was wondering how stable it was, too. 3/4" pvc doesn't seem very strong. Wonder if 2" pvc would be better/stronger and if it could be bent easily enuff.

Snow~load.

Heavy rain.

Wind.

PVC pipe?

Just wondering.
