waxwings in N Ireland - polish the cotoneaster!!

Weymouth, Dorset, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

did you lure them over with some magical spell?Mind you, the way the weather is all over at the mo, poor birds must wonder wether they're comimg or going.Speaking to my daughter last night, she said it had been snowing in Rhodes where she lives, and that it was -2 the night before. I wonder how do the birds decide when it is the right time to fly off, the temperature?, daylight hours?

food shortage forces birds out of their home range. If Evert's birds would fill their bellies and run out of food the east coast would see them and then they move west as food runs out again.

what I dont understand is Evert still has Rowan berries on his trees yet our trees are stripped in August as soon as they are ripe.
