Well, like last March, I had a couple tubers sprout, so I plopped them on top of the ground and covered them with about 4" of mulch yesterday. Never done that this time of year. Think they'll survive?
BTW, I don't bury my potatoes in soil; I bury them in mulch. Trick I learned from Ruth Stout: easy to find them at harvest.
Winter potatoes?
When I was finishing my veggie garden fall clean-up yesterday (yes, it is still fall!) I found a few more potatoes that I had overlooked during harvest last summer. They were all cracked, lots of roots had formed, but no eyes. I re-buried them, put a whole lot of straw-stuff on top, and hoping for the best.
Go_Vols, last summer you wrote you wanted to try to grow a second crop of potatoes. Did you?
