I have an area, where I can grow and multiply my #'s of this fern, 2 of them have reverted to totally green. They are in the same area as the others, but were probably the last ones out of the "nursery"; any ideas? Is the "painted" a recessive gene?

I have these ferns growing in a large container and have never seen them revert to plain green. I'm just wondering whether you have a 'rogue' fern there that was planted with the painted fern. Of course if it is the same plant then make sure you cut the 'all green' fronds away completely.
