First one I've seen in my garden this year. Between the Lantana and the red Porterweed I'm seeing all kinds of butterflies right now.
Spicebush Swallowtail
Great Picture.
Beautiful Butterfly!
Looks like something in a tropical rain forest!
(But i guess Florida's not exactly the Arctic tundra now, is it? ;)
Thanks! LOL Lophophora! It has felt like a tropical rain forest here lately. I think Florida is the only state in the SE that is getting rain, AND an average-above average amount. Finally! We've been drought stricken for years. I leave my car windows down when I get to work. I say that is my version of a rain dance, sorta like a smoker in a restaurant lighting up to ensure food will be served sooner.
Good to hear you're getting the moisture you need!
A Florida without rain is like... well, a day without orange juice! :)
Post more pictures if you can Flor - I can't get enough of those N. American swallowtails!
