I currently have both the bear's breeches and the cimcifuga planted out front of the house. They are shaded and get only the late afternoon sun. Seem to do fine. I would like to move them to my big garden in the back near my apple tree. This would mean more sun that would decrease as the day goes on. If the soil is amended will they both survive here as well? Thanks for any help.

The bear's breeches will do very well in full sun but the cimicifuga is a shade lover!! If it's happy where it is, I would think better to leave it alone!! :-)
Same opinion here, I have the arcanthus hungaricus and it does quite well in the sun
