SOLVED: Unidentified Woodland Plant

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

I can't find this one in my books either. This too was growing in the woods, but right in the creek. Any Ideas?

This looks like it might be a kind of buttercup from the shape of the leaves

Cedar,
That's the idea that "came to me" last night as well.
If it blooms maybe I can Identify it. I'll just have to keep watching.

Not Marsh Marigold, but I suspect it is in the same family.
Probably a type of Buttercup.

It looks like a swamp buttercup. It is VERY aggressive. Run while you can!
