easy seed knicker

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

i was having a time putting knicks into my moonflower seed before planting. my dull knives were dangerous. :) a lightbulb went off in my head and i used the fingernail clippers that have the handles and they worked great.

Are you talking about the ones that look like plyers( I hope I spelled that right) and have a curved bill on the end? I tried with knives and always cut the seeds into...with the what I call toe nail plyers they are great!

Hehehe! I've been using doggie nail clippers for this for years! The tip of the moonvine seed fits right thru the loop when the doggie toenail is supposed to go.

I use one of my DH's files that he uses in his workshop

Yep - Horseshoe told me about the clippers, they are the best! I used to use a file or emory board too but I usually got more off my nails than the seed!

I don't nick em! I stick em! lay them on a cloth and barely stick with sharpened awl.we all have our little tricks that work for us!
