....does anyone have any experience with these? How tall and wide....days to germination, etc....any infor appreciated! Same about Mahonia......

Eyes, do you know the botanical name? There is a tree called Parasol Tree, Firmiana simplex, but I don't know of an umbrella tree.

....it's a hard, hazelnut looking seed...the pkg. said blue....I presume that would be the bloom color..and full sun....that's all I have on it...I'll look up the Parasol tree and see if it looks akin....thanks, Aimee.

Eyes, I hate them, too, but the blooms smell great. I found the Magnolia tripetala, called just "umbrella tree" in my book, and came back to post about it. But it has white flowers and red fruits. Well, you can feed the seeds to the squirrels. Did you find what you wanted to know about mahonia? I looked it up, and was surprised to note that it can grow all the way from 12" to 15'.
