What are these tiny bulbs in my flowerbeds?

Hi, all! Inexperienced gardener here. I’ve been weeding my flower beds, and keep coming upon dozens of tiny white bulbs below the soil. I’m not sure if they are friend or foe.

I have an issue with onion grass, and thought that’s what they may be. But they don’t smell like onions.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

I believe they are ornithagalum umbellatum, AKA Star of Bethlehem. If so, they will eventually send up green foliage and then pleasant little white flowers in mid-spring. They will spread, and you'll never get rid of them, so don't waste your time trying. Just pull up the clumps when they get too big, and they do get big.
