I ordered seeds for hybrid hibiscus, the advice was to soak them for 8 hours and I think I did read something to file some of the seed shell down? I'm a pretty decent gardener. Any tips on the soil or planting them please. Thanks
Hibiscus seeds

Are they hardy or tropical hibiscus seeds? For the hardy types which have spherical seeds, I usually just soak them overnight and they pop up quite quickly after being planted. For tropical hibiscus seeds which have more of a kidney shape, I sometimes nick a little chip out of the rounded side before soaking them. Of, if they are too small to be chipped, I may soak them in hot water (about 140 degrees) briefly. Hope this helps!
