Picture didn’t post on original post. It’s a perennial with yellow Flowers although it has stopped blooming for the season.

Is it deciduous? Are the flowers single or multipetaled?

Look at Kerria japonica which grows in Missouri.

That's Kerria japonica - the green stems are a quick giveaway for Missouri growing conditions.
