I picked these two up at an out-of-town nursery and they had no idea what they were. I was thinking one might be a manga e and maybe the other some kind of agave? I’m sure some of the experts out here will be able to ID for me. Looking for iD so I can also know how hardy they are.
-many thanks & good health to you -
Agave? Aloe? Succulent variety?
Agave hybrids.
Formerly there was a group called Manfreda; their hybrids brought spots to Agaves and they were called Mangave. Now the putative Mangave and Manfreda are all included in Agave.
Thank you Vestia- I appreciate the response. Really looking for varietal ID since that’s the only way I will know how hardy they are.
Suffice it to say, most of the “Magave” hybrids are not very hardy (like VA hardy). You can try looking at nursery websites like sanmarcosgrowers.com (look under Mangave) for some guidance.
