watermelon not seedless?? has small black seeds

La Luz, NM

I just got a watermelon. It doesn't appear to be "seedless" as it was brought down from a farm in the mountains...There are black seeds they are just tiny. Can they be planted and grown? There are no white ones just tiny black like miniture of the normal size black seeds. I have never encountered that..

Watermelons may contain small black or white seeds and still be labeled "seedless". Just fewer seeds. Since these are hybrids the seed would not be reliably viable (may be sterile) or the resulting progeny might differ from the parent. If space is not an issue then experiment otherwise stick to known varieties.
