Help identifying a bush

Bentonville, VA

I have a couple of these bushes that have popped up on a full sun hill with erosion issues, so they like wet clay. They grow very fast after popping up. I’m trying to identify them. I thought it might be Devil’s Walking Stick but they never bloom. Thanks for any help

That is, without a doubt, Robinia pseudoacacia - Black Locust.

Those trees will bloom with time, with fragrant white blossoms reminiscent of the Legume family to which they belong.

Thank you!!! I’ve been trying to figure this out for a few years.

So pretty!

They do grow effortlessly, and tend to be colonizers (will sprout new stems from along their root systems, like Sumac).

Here's a big one blooming in the distance, on left of image, while in the near right a Chionanthus virginicus is in full bloom.
