My Zebrina Mallow went nuts this year! BUT! Now it is covered with something I do not recognize. Should I cut them all down and dispose? Any other treatment advised?
What to do?
It's rust. You can cut them down and don't add to your compost but I doubt you will get rid of it. Any mallow and hollyhock you grow will get it.
Do you want to spray? I used mancozeb once years ago successfully but I don't like to spray. There are other fungicides you might try. I don't believe simple clean ups will take care of this one but you can try and maybe try refreshing the mulch around the plant.
