What makes this kind of hole in a pot on the porch. There is basil and cilantro in the pot.

You might have a family of mice.
Do you have a toad in the hole? Might flush them with water if u worry abt mice, but early in the morning would be when to catch anything.
I poured water in it yesterday and nothing came out. If it is mice what should I do?
Put a camera on it? Is the plant suffering? If its a toad they are beneficial, ummm, I clog entry holes to my are with stainless steel wool- non soapy ones...
Isn't it just a hole in the potting soil?
Just a hole - made by some varmint...
Or by the end of a waterhose on full...
I don't water it with a watering hose but I belive it's a mole. Aparently we have a problem with them. I'm heading to home Depot today to find something for it. Thanks everyone!
