Is this Mesquite? Second guess is honey locust. Thorny, some several inches long. Grew irregular, like a Y.
Just started blooming but had to cut down since it the trunk was rotten (over 2/3) and cracked and damaged the fence during the last two storms.
Time for some bbq!

Mesquite! Everyone grows one for free smokin! Prosopus, but there are 3 types at least i hear... since its Texas I would be prone to say neglectus, but doubt that's an option
