Wow! What happened at DG?It will take me a while to get used to this. My computer has trouble navigating away from this site. It keeps coming back. Will try it but not sure I am going to renew.
Dahlias: Fall Dig, Winter Storage, Spring Anticipation
I think I'm about done here, too. Photos and messages disappearing or not posting at all and not long ago the posts were only half a column wide. Half the text was missing. And what's with this new layout for the forum page? When I first saw it I thought I was on the wrong site. Why change a good thing? I think it's time to move on.
I felt like I must have missed the memo. I too thought I was at the wrong site. When I try to skip to new it goes beyond that to the very end. Seems difficult to navigate here.
So lets all send a memo to admin about the new format here. I haven't found anybody that likes it yet. It is hard to navigate and is visually unappealing.
I feel like we've been sold out for the ad money. I have noi ntention of having to skip toth e bottom of each page to move forward in the forum.

I gave them my 2 cents worth. I have enjoyed the chats with everyone here. But I am not going to renew.

I also contacted the administration and told them the new format stinks. I belong to another site called "Garden Web Forums." The layout is strikingly similar to this new DG. Has this site been sold? The GW site has the name "Houzz" at the top of the pages. Maybe we are now part of that. At any rate, I also said I'm probably gone when my subscription is up. There's been too many problems recently and this new layout is the final straw.
I've noticed that when you click "skip to new" it only takes you to the bottom of that page ... not necessarily to the last post. Other sites take you to the last post without having to also click to the last page. I randomly checked a few posts in other categories and I can see we're not the only ones unhappy with the new format. Some have mentioned how this site now resembles the Houzz Garden Web site and believe there may have been a takeover. If I wanted to see this, I would just stay with GW.
I hope some of you can be wait it out with the new changes as I really enjoy our little dahlia group here. I know they are working hard to fix all the problems so if we can just be a little patient, things should come back to normal. If any of you do go though, please do let us know if you're going to another site so we can at least stay in touch :-)
I really enjoyed being able to use the skip to new button. Way superior to this mess. Jeff I feel we were not informed before the changes and that is just plain wrong. Even now there has been no communication from admin. I emailed but no response that is just plain wrong. Your customers should be your primary interest, it does not seem to be so. My subscription ends this month. I will not renew.
I honestly believe this site is virused. After my last post what appeared to be spray painted graffiti started bluring my screen. This is not a free site so the powers that be should be more up front with us. They certainly have the right to sell or merge with someone else but I am not going to spend my money for this mess. I have not been a major contributor here but have truly enjoyed the contributions of members such as yourself.
Hostages, the Skip to New function is now working. The admins may not have effectively communicated the update but there is an entire thread devoted to bugs, problems, fixes, and such. You can find that here:

Sure not much happening at DG. Nothing new posted on ay of the forums I follow.
It has been unusually warm here. I haven't checked on my tubers but probably should .Last few days have been very mild Really only had about a weeks worth of winter so far. Looking forward to Spring.
We have also had very mild weather until the last few days, but Winter temps have arrived. Not much going on, but getting ready to start winter sowing perennials for Spring. I have so many seeds, even some Dahlias, which I have never grown from seed. I will start those in the greenhouse. I really need to get organized! Hope everyone has a great New Year!
Yeah I haven't checked on my tubers either. I slacked on that last year though and they made it fine. I put a thermometer down by where they are stored and I'm consistently within the proper storage temp. This morning it may have been at 44 degrees in their storage location.
