Abnormal growth on this plant. Is it from disease or an insect? Thanks in advance.
What is wrong with this geranium?
I think it is damage from a very small insect or related critter.
Perhaps working on the underside of the leaves?
Perhaps working on the leaves while they are still young, either in the bud or just expanding.
An example of a similar problem is Fuchsia Mite.
Thrips can cause damage similar to this, also. They are large enough to be seen, though.
I would take apart a few leaf buds and newly opening leaves, see if there is anything visible. A hand lens could sure help.
The difficulty of controlling something that is mostly hidden in the leaf or bud is that surface sprays cannot touch it. You would need some kind of systemic pesticide.
Thanks
